I’ve been a fan of Ugmonk for a few years now, I own a few of their t-shirts and have always liked their clean approach to design, often mixing modern minimalism and bold colours with traditional typography and influences. Jeff Sheldon runs Ugmonk and kindly answered a few of our questions, providing the below photos to show us where the magic happens at Ugmonk. I think it’s safe to say you’ll never find a workspace with quite as much style, combined with as many ampersands, as Jeff’s.
Who are you, what do you do and where are you?
I’m Jeff Sheldon, the founder and designer of Ugmonk and I currently live in Pennsylvania. Ugmonk is a design brand focused on producing high-quality products with a minimal design aesthetic and intense attention to detail. It started as a small side project to design products that I wanted for myself and now it has grown into a full-blown lifestyle brand where we’ve shipped thousands of products to over 60 countries around the world.
You can learn more about my story on my website.
I have to ask, how many ampersands do you own?
More than I can count 🙂 No such thing as too many ampersands, right?
If you had to pick one print in your office as your favourite, which would it be?
Tough choice. My Slow & Steady print is one of my personal favourites.
You’re working to a tough deadline, what music (if any) are you listening to?
Recent favourites: Ben Howard, London Grammar, and The War on Drugs.
Impressive camera collection – are they more for show or do they get used?
Most of the vintage cameras on my shelves I inherited from my grandfather and are only there for display. I do have a few DSLRs that I use for all of my product and travel photography.
What’s the most important thing in an office for you? (Lighting, music, plants, anything)
I love having a lot of natural light in my office and being able to look out my windows. I would go crazy if I had to be cooped up under artificial lighting all day.
Where’d you get that cool desk riser + bulb lamp?
I actually made both of them from IKEA hacks.

How many hours do you spend in your office?
Most weeks I probably spend 40+ hours in my office.
Burning office scenario – You run in and can only grab one or two things, what do you grab?
My hard drive (that automatically backs up my computer) and my iPhone.
Thanks to Jeff for sharing the above answers and letting us show you all his awesome workspace, we know he’s pretty busy running Ugmonk! For those that have never checked out the brand, I suggest heading over to their site to take a look around. Not only do their products rock, they also do some awesome things for charities and have so far donated 30,000 meals to orphans – a cool company with a personal touch.
